The Keys to Lasting Health

I think the majority of the population is aware that a healthy body equals a better quality and oftentimes quantity of life. Despite the consensus, many people have a hard time breaking bad eating habits and really committing to a life of eating healthy and exercising regularly.

I want you to know that it is not as difficult as you think. You might be looking at the big picture as more of an "all or nothing" mentality, when in reality it is a day by day process. It is more of a journey and it is one that you can begin at anytime. All it takes is desire, passion, and commitment.

A very easy first step you can take is to remove as many 'non-food' items from your diet. These are sugars, grains, white table salt and milk. I know it might be difficult to let go of some of those, but the benefit is that you will feel so much better within just a few weeks. These items provide virtually no, if little macronutrients to the body despite what food companies espouse.

The next thing to minimise or eliminate all together is processed foods. Processed foods are foods that have been changed from their natural state. They are foods that are canned, frozen, or dehydrated. Examples of processed foods that are detrimental to you health are canned goods that have a lot of sodium in them; chips, frozen dinners, packaged cookies, breakfast cereals with high sugar, breads with white flour and processed meats.

If you remove these unhealthy foods from your life, your digestion system will certainly thank you for it. It is taxing on the digestive system to process junk and processed foods and even when it does, there are very little nutrients that actually get absorbed into your body. Such food place a burden on the human body, as it attempts to draw nutrients from what is essentially 'dead' (no life-giving) food items.

As you decrease unhealthy foods, increase foods that your body needs and loves. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables every day. Consume foods which are whole and natural, which have not been refined or processed. Introduce new healthy foods into your diet as often as you can. You don't have to make a dramatic change at first, as that might tend to make you anxious. If you are not sure how to cook with healthy foods, purchase a cook book to guide you. It can be quite fun to learn how to cook healthy meals.

Along with eating healthy, adopt an exercise regimen. There are all sorts of things you can do to exercise: walk, jog, play tennis, try yoga, go hiking, swimming or join a gym. As you exercise, you strengthen muscles and your core; endorphins are released throughout your body allowing you to feel happier. If you take just 20 minutes out of your day and exercise, you will be well on your way to a healthier life.

Lasting health involves the physical, mental, and also the spiritual. Make a concerted effort to grow spiritually by taking time periodically for meditation, prayer, contemplation or even quite time alone. A wonderful place to feel at one with Spirit is out in nature. Many people associate prayer with religion. Prayer may involve a simple 'thank you' to the universe for that new job you recently acquired.

Have you ever just sat out in a field or in the woods listening to the sounds of nature and breathing in such a beautiful fragrance? It is in those moments that many people gain clarity about life purpose and a deep gratitude may also fill their hearts.

If you take time daily to connect with Spirit, you will experience less stress and feel more energetic and revived. Your connection with a greater source of energy will help you to experience more joy and peace as you go about living your life. Many people who regularly pray and meditate report that their lives are less stressful and they feel more fulfilled than when they did not engage in spiritual practices.

I hope that you will take these suggestions and put them into practice so that you can have long, lasting health. You are certainly worth it and you will simply feel so much better about yourself. I completely believe in you.

Revelations in Dreams, God's Anger and His Punishments

Since our dreams are produced by God, when I became a dream expert I also became a prophet able to decipher God's revelations in dreams. I had verified into practice that I could completely trust the dream messages without fear. God was not a liar. The dream messages were real.

Carl Jung was a cold psychiatrist and this is why he couldn't perceive the unconscious sanctity. He could only perceive the unconscious wisdom. This is why he had concluded that the unconscious mind is God's mind.

Of course, he understood that there was a religious side in the divine origin of the unconscious mind, but his occupation with this matter was superficial. He concentrated his attention mainly on the scientific value of the unconscious guidance in dreams.

I concentrated my attention also on the religious side of this matter.

Carl Jung was unable to perceive the unconscious sanctity because he followed the mindset of his historical time. He believed that we shouldn't have limitations and decide everything based on our moral principals and our pre-established definitions about what is good or bad.

This conclusion was absurd, but he couldn't understand this truth with the knowledge he had. If something is not good, it unavoidably is bad. When we disregard our moral principals we will surely become neurotic and surely suffer very much, besides surely causing suffering to everyone around us.

If we don't respect what is good and we are evil, we will unavoidably end up on terror and despair. Our moral principals protect our sanity.

Carl Jung disliked the idea to condemn the human behavior. He preferred to criticize religious truths based on scientific concepts.

When I managed to translate the meaning of dreams better than him and I verified the unconscious wisdom, I was indifferent to the religious side of this matter, exactly like him. I understood that I should respect the divine wisdom only later, when I perceived the sanctity contained in the dream messages. Only then could I understand that I had to be God's server instead of believing that the unconscious mind was my employee.

God thanked me because I understood my position. Then, He started telling me what to do.

He told me that I was a terrible demon, but He would give me the chance to save my sanity. I had to attain sanctity after passing though numerous crucifixions. I was very strong and this is why I could help Him eliminate evilness on Earth. A sensitive saint would never bear all the suffering I could bear because I was a violent demon.

I had to put his plan for the elimination of craziness and terror into practice and pass through an unbearable hell.

I thanked God because He gave me the chance to save my sanity. Without His guidance I would unavoidably become schizophrenic like my father.

However, I disagreed with his plan. I didn't want to be a hero.

God told me that He was afraid to trust a demon like me, but I had to pay Him back. He had suffered very much in order to make me pay attention to His words.

My literary talent was His gift. It was a bridge that was always uniting me with His wisdom.

I couldn't immediately understand what I had written when I was guided by my magical inspiration. I had to read my words many times until I could really understand their meaning. These words always had a wise meaning, even though I was young and ignorant.

Everything started making sense when I became a dream expert and I could clearly understand the symbolic meaning of dream images in dreams and in literary works. Jung had analyzed the writings of many authors who were inspired by the unconscious mind like me.

God showed me that He was revolted with the Catholic and the Orthodox Church. He would punish the members of both churches a thousand times more than the worst sinners of world.

I was baptized in both churches because my parents are Greek and therefore, Orthodox. They had decided to live in Brazil, where I was born, and this is why I studied in a Catholic school.

God showed me in dream messages that He was disgusted with the members of the Catholic and the Orthodox church because of their indifference to the horrors of the world. He told me that all members of both churches were terrible demons. Satan rules God's churches in our world.

Satan is our wild conscience. When our anti-conscience manages to destroy a big portion of our human conscience, we become visibly mentally ill. However, we are constantly influenced by our satanic anti-conscience even when our human conscience is strong.

I had to meticulously study the meaning of hypocrisy in order to understand God's anger.

I also had to face many humiliations. The members of both churches didn't believe in God's existence, and they didn't believe in miracles.

I was immediately attacked by many Catholic priests when I told them that I had discovered that we are demons and God suffers very much because of our existence.

Nobody believed that this was a divine revelation.

They told me that God had already revealed everything He had to show to the world a long time ago.

God was forbidden to make new revelations. The members of the church decided on His behalf that all revelations had happened in the past and now all revelations had ended.

When I told them that God was revolted with the members of the church because all human beings are demons and the church is not doing anything to save humanity from hell, all priests humiliated me, showing me how insignificant I was.

Nobody wanted to learn more details about my discoveries.

Whenever I tried to show to a certain priest what I had discovered after continuing Carl Jung's research into the unknown region of the human psyche, I was interrupted before being able to explain anything. Every priest would give me lessons, and tell me what a certain saint or a certain philosopher had said about this matter in the past.

I didn't need to give them explanations. They knew everything better than me. They seemed to know everything even better than God.

I hated all the conversations I had to have with the priests and nuns. However, I had to obey God's guidance like a soldier, no matter how much I hated my mission. My personal opinion had no value. The way I was feeling was unimportant too. Nothing could be more important than God's plan for the elimination of craziness and terror.

This was the only way I could help God stop suffering. His heart was always bleeding because we are not really human.

God told me that He was more than desperate. He was trying to put an end to craziness and terror during billions of years without success. He didn't know how He could still believe in this possibility and still keep trying to save the human race. He begged me to obey his guidance without complaining.

I agreed to obey His guidance, but I was always complaining because I disagreed with my suffering.

I had various discussions about God's pain with many priests and nuns. I asked them if they believed that God was always suffering because of our craziness, but they told me that God didn't suffer like us, poor human beings.

They believed that God shows apathy before the terror that rules our world; a world characterized by poverty, immorality, greed, wars, numerous crimes, and infinite lies.

In the beginning of 1991 God told me that I had to meet the bishop because this was an important part of his plan. The bishop of the Catholic church of Athens (father Nikolaos Foskolos) was very rude with me in the phone when I called him up with the intention to talk with him about my discoveries. He told me that he knew who I was. He had already learned about my existence and my discussions with many priests.

I told him that I had to tell him important revelations found in dreams translated based on Carl Jung's method of dream interpretation. He accepted to see me in the end of the week when he attended the public, but only for a few minutes, and only because I insisted.

It was obvious to me that the attempt to convince an ignorant and arrogant creature like the bishop that my discoveries were real was predestined to fail. This meeting was a waste of time. I knew beforehand that he wouldn't believe my words.

However, God not only insisted, as well as He sent me a flue. I was always punished whenever I disagreed with His guidance. God forced me to be obedient.

I would do the same if I was in His place. His suffering was more than unbearable and He depended on someone's obedience.

I met the bishop a certain Friday morning in his very well equipped office, which was far from being modest. I told him that humanity would condemn the church when I would prove to the world that we are demons and everyone goes to hell after death. I told him that I was writing a scientific book to prove these truths to the world.

He told me that I was free to write whatever I had the intention to. He had no objections.

Then, I told him that God was revolted with the members of the Catholic church, reminding Him Jesus' words: "The servers who know what the Lord expects from them but don't do what the Lord expects from them will be punished in double". In other words, God punishes more those who know what He wants from them but refuse to do their obligation, than those who ignore His will.

The bishop was not afraid. He didn't believe that he was disobeying God only because he was not paying attention to my revelations.

I told him that God was revolted also because the Catholic church stopped believing in the existence of demons, while Jesus gave us many lessons about Satan.

The bishop gave me a piece of paper, where he had written something. The word 'demon' was there, in a sentence. He was trying to show me with this document that he believed in the demon, and He didn't need to be reminded by me.

Then, he opened the big wooden door of his office, showing me the way out. I thanked him for his time and left, glad because he didn't hit me. At least he seemed to be civilized.

After this experience I understood why the meeting with the bishop was so important. God didn't expect to see me convincing him of anything. God wanted to show me how alone He was. I was the only one who was precisely obeying His guidance on Earth.

All human beings are demons who merely pretend to be human. God is always angry with all sinners.

How to Determine That You Have Psychic Abilities

I'm sure you have heard these expressions many times:

" What a sad soul" - "What a gentle soul" or even "What a happy soul."

These are statements regularly used by many people, day in day out in their every day lives. It is not only a matter of how we are physically, that makes us feel good, it is what goes on inside at a soul level that gives us that feeling of lightness and happiness. No amount of material goods will bring that feeling to us. Long term anyway. Maybe a night out for a few drinks will dull the feeling of worry. Before long we realise it can only be a temporary fix. Restoring your well being is all about soothing and healing your spiritual self. Finding the place in each of us that has always known truth and love.

At times life deals us some fairly harsh lessons. Sometimes, the hurts can be so small we don't remember them. However, deep inside the very fibre of our being every hurt is stored. Clearing them away is very beneficial to our mental and physical well being. This cane how a person's Guide or Angel can step in through a Clairvoyant Medium ( a channeller)

What is a Spirit Guide?

The term "spirit guide" seems to mean something different to each and every person. However in general terms "Spirit Guide" means someone in the spirit world who has had an Earth life and who has chosen to help and support you.

There are other energies that have been described as spirit guides who are known as ascended masters, spiritual leaders, elementals, Gods and Goddesses, even ET's. They may come from an ancient civilisations or from many walks of life - from ever in fact everyone and everything, way back to the beginning of creation.

Guides can appear to us as being of any age, young to old. A spirit guide can be an old soul from any culture, era or country, they wait patiently to be able to help us whilst we are in this lifetime and can give vast amounts of wisdom to help us on our way. Remember we all have one no matter whether we believe or not! They are non judgemental, all loving and supportive of each of us.

What is the difference between a Spirit Guide and a Guardian Angel?

Generally Guardian Angels have not had an earthly life but are very wise and understanding of everything that there is as with Spirit Guides they are there to help and support us and shower us with their their protecting energy. This may be whoever we are, whatever our spiritual beliefs, even if we don't have any spiritual beliefs or are agnostic. Spirit Guides who are supporting people consciously walking a spiritual path, will be doing everything they can to help them on that path, be it mediumship, healing, mentorship, spiritual leadership, etc.

Does everyone have a Spirit Guide?

Yes, everyone has spirit guides. Some guides are unique to you, others will be helping other people as well, such as Archangel Michael, Jesus, Mary etc.

Can you have more than one Spirit Guide?

Yes, you can have a number of guides. Each guide may be with you for a different reason. This will be to support you during specific aspects of your life and journey. One or more guides will be your main guide/s. They will be with you all your life and will never leave you. When you learn to tune into them you will be able to receive so much guidance, you will begin to wonder how you did without this loving, dedicated friend of yours.

Do our Spirit Guides Change throughout my Life?

Yes, as you evolve and mature spiritually and as your circumstances change, your guides will change too. New guides, appropriate for new stages in your spiritual journey will move close to help you. Many people can sense when they have a new spirit guide close by and this of course is dependent on your current circumstances. Your Master Guide will never leave you.

Are our Spirit Guides unique to us?

Your guides work personally with you and for you.
They set out to guide and bring you comfort, to let you know that they understand your circumstances and they work so hard to help you along your path of learning.

How do spirit guides help us?

Gosh, in so many ways do our Guides help. They are so busy orchestrating "coincidences" and opportunities for us. These will be in accord with our thoughts, words and actions and will align with our spiritual aims and purpose. Our guides will do what they can to bring these opportunities to our attention. It is up to us to recognise these opportunities and opt choose whether or not to take them.

Have you ever though about how something may help you in a certain situation, then heard a song, seen a sign, met the perfect person to help you resolve your predicament or maybe you have picked up a book looking for just the right words and found that it falls open at exactly the right page? Maybe an answer to a dilemma or question has come about via a chance conversation or meeting. If the answer was unexpected, you can be pretty sure that your guides have been involved.

See your Spirit Guides as experienced mentors, protectors, helpers and friends. They are there to support, love and assist you. You may be connected with that guide through a previous incarnation and every guide has their own specific role, working both independently and in partnership with your other guides.

How long will my guide stay with me?

Your principal, or main guide, who will stay with you throughout your entire life. At other times you will be joined by one or more guides who are particularly skilled at helping with specific aspects or challenges. Some will be around you for a long time, others for shorter spells to help with specific issues. Do not fret that you have been abandoned if you think they are not around. It is generally your own worries and concerns that block these feelings of connection. Trust that they NEVER leave your side.

Can spirit guides a relatives from your family connection?

In a nut shell, yes. People who pass into Spirit will often choose to stay close to their loved ones on the Earth plane. However like all humans that pass over, we must have a time of healing and coming to terms with having died and also understanding the lessons that we had to learn or did not quite learn. A Spirit Guide has nearly always been an apprentice guide for some time before gaining the wonderful position of Spirit Guide. It generally means they have lived many lifetimes and gained enormous compassion, wisdom and patience to be as so responsible as to be guiding us here on this plane.

Can spirit guides be animals?

Again the answer is yes. Guides can certainly be animals and, like any other guide, will have a particular reason for being with you. They may have been a very special friend to you in your life, a dog, cat, horse, bird. All animal creatures are as special as we are both in life and afterlife.

Will the Guide know to come through for someone in their Reading?

Most definitely, a good Channeller, will prepare themselves by grounding themselves and working with the White Light of Spirit and indicate that they are having an appointment with a certain person. This way there can be no doubt that the Spirit Guide is there ready and waiting to communicate.

In learning that you have these amazing Spirits to guide and love you throughout your life makes finding out how they can help to carry the burden of your journey in this lifetime, all the more important.

3 Tips For Staying True To You This Holiday Season

Love-Hate Holidays

Who doesn't love the holidays? Who doesn't hate them at the same time? While everything feels festive, there can also be a lot of commercially-driven falseness to that festiveness too.

There are also the beliefs that giving gifts is how to best show you love someone, pigging out is the best way to share your happiness, and drinking up is the best way to ride the high of the season (or deal with avoiding the lows).

Self-Love or Selfishness?

What's important is staying true to you and continuing to love and care for yourself, even during the holiday season. If you're in the midst of embracing wellness, you may be challenged and pressured by those around you to go off the wellness wagon, "because it's THE HOLIDAYS! Don't be a downer!"

It can be so easy to do what you don't want to do over the holidays because of this kind of pressure. How do you avoid confusing self-love with selfishness?

First of all, if someone tries to pressure you into eating or drinking something you don't want, or spending money you don't really have on gifts, or participating in any activity that you don't enjoy, then THEY are being selfish by accusing you of selfishiness. It's okay to stay true to you. Those who love you unconditionally will respect your choices. If you are trying to become well, they will want you to be healthy and happy.

3 Tips for Staying True to You

1. Identify what you really WANT to do this season - What foods do you want to eat and not eat? Do you want to drink, and if so, how much and what? What events do you want to go to, anf not go to? Who do you really want to buy gifts for? What is your spending limit overall, and for each person? Who do you want to spend time with? Who do you not want to spend time with? Identifying what you want is the first step to keeping yourself stress-free and well.

2. Focus on what you LOVE about the holidays and find healthy ways to still experience those things - Holidays, like life, shouldn't be about either overindulgence or deprivation. The holidays are a time to celebrate what you love most. Is it the lights? How about taking evening walks around the neighborhood to experience them? Is it the food? Find healthy recipes for your favorite dishes, create them, and share them with your friends and family (without preaching or forcing, just sharing!) Is it the parties? Create a plan for how you can attend a party without sabotaging your goals - maybe it means bringing your own food and drink; maybe it means leaving at a set time so you can get a good night's sleep.

3. Deal with any guilt you feel about putting yourself and your wellness first - Why do you feel that you can't put yourself first? What would happen if you did? Why is your wellness less important than pleasing others? Are you sure others would be upset if you offered new ways of doing things over the holidays, or if you asked that they respect your health goals and personal wishes?

When it comes down to it, you are all you've got. Your first and primary relationship is with yourself. And that is true of every person you know. Each person is responsible for themselves, their feelings, their beliefs, their choices and their reactions. Sometimes being true to you can upset others at first, but what should come after their initial reaction to change is respect for your choices and love for you, no matter what.

Joy - What the Holidays are All About, Right?

Isn't joy and goodwill the whole PURPOSE of the holiday season? If you're traipsing around in Shouldville, how is that joyful? If you give out of "shoulds" and expectations, then it's not authentic. It's sacrificial. Don't sacrifice your wellness just because it's the holidays! Give the best gift you can give to others, and to yourself: a healthy, joyful, authentic you.

Who You Are and Bringing Your Gift

~A truly strong person does not need the approval of others any more than a lion needs the approval of sheep. Vernon Howard~

WHO YOU ARE AND BRINGING YOUR GIFT

Just look at you! You are something else! You are just too much!

Haven't we all heard these words at some point in our lives? Well, hopefully we have.

What was happening at the time? Perhaps you were at a party and were having a great time laughing and talking and even dancing. Maybe you were being theatrical in our way of expressing ourselves, making faces and hand motions to carry our point across to others. Or you were in your art studio creating or in your sound booth singing!

How did that feel, being fully self expressed, not even having to think at all, but rather feeling ourselves pouring on every level? Some might call it the zone. Think of your art, your craft, the thing you love to do the most in life, what you are passionate about. Are you analyzing it, struggling with it, feeling pressed by it, uncomfortable with it, or is it simply a flow, an easy outpouring of ourselves? You know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, when you are being fully you and in that zone.

You also know when you are not being you but seeking to please, aiming to be something you are not, someone you think others want you to be. In other words, scrunching all up into a box to be what you think others want you to fit into. This might mean dressing differently than you would, talking differently, putting on what and who you are not. Now feel how that feels. Not so good? I say!

Feel how it feels to be fully you, being in the zone of your real and authentic you! Fell how it feels to seek to be someone others might want you to be, or you think they want you to be. Which feels better?

Being fully you is the gift you bring. It is your life experience, your story, you victories and your failures, you joys and your sadness, your gains and your losses. Honoring every bit of who you are, in all your reality, allows you to deliver that gift. This is the heart of the matter. Fully honoring and integrating every part of you, embracing fully who you are, leaves nothing to hide, nothing to pretend, nothing that needs covering. You see you naked, real, in all your foibles and human bean-ness. Being the real you, allows the real you to be.

The parts you deny, cover, suppress, hide, dishonor, call for you to continue to be that which you are not. What you press down, presses YOU down. All you deny about you, denies the real you. What you cover, covers the real you. What you suppress, suppresses you. Embracing and loving every bit of who you are, even the parts that may not seem to be desirable qualities, is your true self. Bringing YOU into wholeness then allows you to express who you are, being fully you.

So ask yourself, "where am I incongruent with my true self and what parts of me can I honor and embrace?".

You cannot deliver something you are not. You cannot bring a message that is not fully you.

You will fail to deliver that fully, if it is not you. You will not be able to express your true self if all parts of you are not congruent or integrated together. It will show and others will see it is not you. Besides that, YOU will know because you will feel the struggle in every part of your body.

Why would you seek to be anything but you? Some change and alter who they are to please others and seek approval. Approval seeking is a lost cause and worthless pursuit. Why? Because it will never come to fruition. That's right. One who seeks approval from others will never be okay, never meet approval, never be accepted nor receive satisfaction. Approval seeking is a hungry monster that can never be satiated. Not only that but it hurts when the results are not achieved, which they never are.

Here are 9 reasons why you no longer care about people's approval:

1) A happy life can be lived without other's approval. Just because someone may not like us or what we do or say, it does not mean there is something wrong with us. You are a whole person, and complete and there is nothing outside of you that you need in order to feel whole.

2) You won't be liked by everybody. Not everyone will like you and some will continue to talk about you. They are simply someone who feels the need to talk about someone. Hey, it gives others a rest if they are talking about you!

3) It is a time waster. Why waste your time and energy on other people's opinions.

4) It drains you. It takes a lot of your energy to fuss and fume about other people's thoughts.

5)You are free and have the freedom to be YOU. When you let go of what they say or do, you have all the freedom to be fully you, coming into all you are and can be!

6) You run your life and they run theirs. This is the divine right of every one of us, The free choice to live how we live and let other's live as they do. When we fully free ourselves to live our lives, in the process we free other as well!

7) You can have peace inside.Having the inner peace of knowing you are whole and complete not needing others to tell you that you are, is immense! We all want peace and to be happy and as soon as you stop caring about what "they" think, you have found the source to peace and happiness.

8) You can never control what others think of you. Have fun trying. We all came from different worlds, different backgrounds, a different reality that is unique to each of us. This reality that was built from the time we were born, based on our thoughts, beliefs, experiences, all sourced from the way we were raised. I see black you see white, I see something as wrong and you may see it as right. I love green and you might hate green.

9) You are the only person that can give approval to YOU! When you get, inside yourself, who you are and all you bring, your real value and give approval to yourself, that is the only human approval you need! You are free!

Well, "what to do" you may ask? The answer is very simple, my friends. It is summed up in three words; "Just be YOU".

It is so easy to just be YOU. It is so difficult to be someone you are not. Being you, is all you truly know how to be. However, one must work hard to be someone and something else. To be thrown about by varying ideas, thoughts and opinions, to meet other people's approval is like seeking to set anchor in a hurricane. One will never know direction, be tossed about continually, and be in chaos all the time. Hurt, pain, fear, sadness, unworthiness are all feelings that come with seeking the approval of others.

The prize, the gift, the blessing, does not come from accolades from others. It is quite the opposite. The gems and treasures of life comes from being full you, being present to all that you are, bringing what you bring in delivering the gift of who you are in the world.

If you are not you, who will be? Who will bring your unique self out there and make a difference like only you can? No one. The world will have missed out. Why? Because you were too busy, working all hard to be someone else. Life has passed you by in the hurricane of life and you have no anchor in you.

To drive home this point, essentially you have died to who you are and the eulogy has been told. It is not too late however. You can rewrite it now. Stop living to please, but please live!Stop seeking others approval, be who you truly are, letting your light shine and bring your gift. Deliver to the world what only you have been blessed to deliver, your unique and fully expressed self.

So who are YOU and what gift do you bring?

Think Your Muscles Bigger, The Power of Visualisation

Much has been written about the MIND: MUSCLE connection in the fields of bodybuilding and physique enhancement, a phenomenon that has been consistently backed up by scientific research. In 2010 in France at the Centre of Research and Innovation in Sport researchers showed that mental imagery boosted performance in the gym, increasing strength in both the bench press and leg press.

19 subjects were recruited for a 6 week study, and were assigned to either a mental imagery or a control group. The 2 groups performed identical bench press and leg press exercises. The difference came during the rest period between sets. The mental imagery group were told to visualise the exercise movement and imagine how the muscles would feel during each rep. The control group carried out a neutral task.

After 12 workouts, the mental imagery group had gained strength more quickly than the control group. They increased both their single rep maximum lift and the number of reps that they could do with given weights.

The mental imagery group were told to picture in their heads the muscle that they were training and to mentally successfully achieve a certain number of reps with a weight before they trained. They were told to FEEL the set in their heads from the moment the weight was picked up to the conclusion of the set, picturing as vividly as possible how each rep felt.

Without going into too much science, mental imagery helps to increase muscle strength and consequential performance by making your neuromuscular system more efficient, recruiting muscle fibres that would not otherwise be used. This, in simple terms, enables you to lift greater amounts of weight, which in turn leads to the development of larger muscles.

Perhaps the most famous example of this is multi Mr Olympia/ Mr Universe winner Arnold Schwarzenegger who thought of his biceps as mountains where there was no limit to biceps growth, which enabled him to go beyond normal mental barriers.

The results of the research in France mirrored those achieved at Hull University which was presented to the British Psychological Society's Annual Conference at the City Hall Cardiff in March 2006. In this study, 30 people performed machine bicep curls with a machine that measured how much their biceps were working. Subjects tried to produce as much force as possible under three conditions: (1) thinking only about their muscles and how they were working, (2) thinking about the weight they were lifting and (3) thinking about whatever they wanted.

It was found that there was significantly more muscle activity when people concentrated and focussed on the muscle that they were working rather than the weight that they were lifting.

Thinking about a muscle increases action potential, the electrical discharge that travels along the membrane of a cell, but will only lead to increased strength if the muscle is fully contracted, becomes overloaded, and is then allowed to repair and recover.

At the Cleveland Clinic Foundation subjects visualised contracting a finger or bending an elbow but not to perform a task. Over a 12 week period in which subjects did 50 mental contractions 5 days per week, the muscles powering the finger and elbow strengthened by 35% and 13.5%, respectively.

Stimulating a specific muscle response can also be generated by watching the actions of others. In a study at the University of Surrey, researchers found that watching live performances of dance resulted in muscle-specific motor responses in viewers, even when those viewers had no formal training in these movements. Study participants were either frequent dance spectators of ballet, Indian dance, or novices who never watched dance. Researchers tested participants using a technique called single pulse trans cranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to measure corticospinal excitability, or signals in the hand and arm. Researchers found that if the subject was watching a motor action performed by somebody else, the motor cortex got excited. Knowing how excited the motor cortex was meant that the brain was tuning itself in ready for similar actions.

The empathic ability of participants was also tested, using an Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI). This is a standard questionnaire used to measure cognitive empathy. It includes a fantasy scale, with questions designed to gauge the ability to immerse yourself into a fictional character, story, or film.

Frequent ballet spectators showed larger responses in the arm muscles when watching ballet compared to when they watched other types of dance, similar results were found with Indian dance fans when watching Indian dance. They also found that that the Indian dance spectators scored higher on the fantasy subscale of the IRI. Results showed that even without physical training, corticospinal excitability can be enhanced as a function of either visual experience, or the tendency to imaginatively transpose oneself into fictional characters. They concluded that it might be possible that transposing oneself mentally into the body of a dancer has some beneficial effects for you, as in your somatosensory perception of yourself, such as the imagined feeling (that) you were dancing with somebody else.

Transposing this to the field of muscle building it would be interesting to see the muscular responses of weight lifting fans watching a weight lifting competition or bodybuilders watching a movie of some top professionals doing a workout.

What all of the above suggests is the power of the mind for muscle building. Recently I have been conducting my own trials, which at some stage I hope to publish, working with teenage Rugby players. Without, at this stage, going into too much detail, individual subjects have been using visualisation as a means to increase overall body strength. The results have been nothing short of amazing with strength increases of in excess of 30% being achieved on average by all participants.

Being a full on contact sport, additional strength equates on the pitch to improved performance levels (these of course are highly subjective) as determined by the players, coaches and of course results (winning) juxtaposed with fewer injuries.

To summarise the above - your mind is a very powerful tool when it comes to muscle building. Before you train you need to get yourself into the correct mind set by observing something inspirational in an associated field (such as in the example above a series of You Tube clips with impressive Rugby tries and tackles). Then before doing a particular exercise focus on the muscle that you are working. The greater the amount of your focus on the muscle the greater the results will be. Feel the muscle as you do the exercise. Concentrate solely on the muscle rather than the resistance being moved. As a side note, in this last respect, from a safety point of view, it is preferential to train with machines rather than free weights as free weights often need more concentration on the movement in order for the exercise to be done correctly.

Once the workout is complete, keep your visualisations going by KNOWING that your muscles have been worked fully and keeping your mind channelled into the additional growth that it will bring.

Use your mind to achieve greater results in your training. By focusing in on your muscles rather than the exercise you can greatly enhance your muscle size and strength, I am currently working with many leading bodybuilders, Rugby Players, Athletes and sports professionals all of whom are benefiting from the power of visualization and the appliance of science to muscle building.

Signs Indicating a Spiritual Awakening

There have been times when I questioned my sanity as I walked the path of spiritual purification, feeling very alone. There were times when I fought to repress my intuition as it tried to lead me into truth that my mind could not accept and of which my church would not approve. I lost many friends who began to think of me as too far removed from the traditional teachings of the Christian faith in which I was raised. There was no one to tell me how to regain my emotional health so I could keep going forward. Without information or a guidebook or guru, it took me years to realize that physical and emotional pain comes from resisting the ascension process.

Having said that, I will give a few signs, which indicate that we as individuals and a collective society are going through a spiritual awakening. While none of these should be confused with serious conditions, which require medical attention, here are some other signs indicating that a spiritual awakening is occurring for you:

• Change of relationships, careers, dietary preferences, sleep patterns vision and perception, and libido level
• Creativity and energy surges that include decluttering, detoxing, and simplifying your life
• Desire for freedom
• Depression and loss of interest
• Electronic disturbances
• Fatigue , headaches, heart palpitations, hot flashes, and ringing in the ears
• Synchronicities, intuition, and psychic gifts increased
• Keen awareness of thoughts (your own and of those around you) and more emotional responses (energetic sensitivities)
• Miraculous healing of body, mind, or emotions

This list is by no means complete, but these are a few of the more common symptoms that people have reported in regards to spiritual growth. Let's look at a couple of these in more detail.

Anxiety or Panic Attacks

As things change within the body, it affects the emotions and vice versa. Most people fear unsolicited change and may resist the Spirit's attempt to rid the mind of fear-based patterns of thinking. This can manifest as anxiety, nervousness, or panic attacks.

Anxiety is a sign that you are resisting a clearing process. Simply acknowledge this emotion that has come up for healing. This fragmented part of your soul is asking to be integrated and aligned with the purer vibration of your soul. Breathe and bring it into the flow of life-anxiety is just another form of energy. When you feel nervous, remind yourself that this is only energy moving through. Say something like: "I allow dense/dark energy to be transmuted and integrated into love/light energy as I enjoy my peaceful, prosperous, easy life."

Use the tools you have discovered and keep repeating the mantras, prayers, and affirmations. By the time you memorize them they will have started shifting your response mechanism and you will begin to address anxiety in a new way.

Panic attacks can be "talked down" by tapping into the Sacred Heart center. Reading a passage in A Course in Miracles gets my mind calmed down and into better perspective rather quickly. Certain herbs have been found useful for treating nervousness. Talk with an herbalist or alternative health practitioner about using valerian root, passion flower, kava kava, St. John's wort, or other herbal supplements.

Sometimes the intense energy one feels as anxiety is actually a buildup of faster-vibrating frequencies that need to be released. The best way to do this is to get into the Sacred Heart space for five minutes. Do some deep breathing and then envision a ray of light beaming from your heart center toward anyone you feel needs a boost of God-Goddess love and light. If you don't have a particular person in mind, send that beam into the collective consciousness of humanity.

Body Sensations

As the biological body shifts into the light body, the old cellular structure is dissolving, giving birth to a new crystalline structure. For some who are sensitive, this can be an uncomfortable experience until enough of the form has been transmuted to allow for a purer vibration to take hold. The detoxification process can bring about body aches and pains (flu-like symptoms) or fatigue that our current medical doctors cannot explain or treat. It is not uncommon to experience unusual sensations in your body or chakras. There could be pressure on top of your head, tingling on your scalp or forehead (especially between your eyebrows), or energy surges in your body. Pain, hot flashes, and chills are also reported.

Body aches and pains may be directly related to regions in the subtle bodies that are blocked or stuck. Headaches may indicate that the third eye is opening. Stomachaches could indicate that you are stuffing your feelings/emotions. Chronic cough and sore throat may indicate a blocked fifth chakra. These symptoms should subside once the energetic condition is cleared and the body has acclimated to the new vibration. Until then, take advantage of energy therapy, acupuncture, aromatherapy, exercise, herbs, homeopathic remedies, mineral and vitamin supplements, salt baths, massage, or other holistic methods necessary to handle the discomfort.

Because organs and glands within the body are changing to accommodate the light body, your arms, hands, feet, or legs may tingle when you are meditating or doing conscious breathing. For more than ten years, I have experienced the sensation that someone is lightly touching or playing with my hair. I've also felt that I'm half in and half out of my body or that my spirit is too large to fit inside my skin.

If you are having ascension symptoms, be aware of your thoughts because what we think is what creates our reality. Our bodies are a mirror that shows us what beliefs we hold either in our conscious or unconscious mind. Be careful to think and say only positive things about yourself and your body; we are manifesting more quickly than ever.

As we enter these intense years of the shift into purer consciousness, there are spiritually-minded folks all over the world willing and able to help. A Google or Facebook search will help you find a group where you can chat and find community.

Healing Your Life From the Inside Out, Breaking the Bubble of Illusion

Often when we think about healing ourselves, we first think about our emotional or mental self - then our physical body. We rush to a psychiatrist, or doctor - hoping for relief, a cure, or a fix for all of our problems... for a magical pill that will take it all a way. It is this "dis-ease" within ourselves that causes the turmoil in our outer world.

Physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually - if we are not okay with ourselves on the inside, we will manifest this into our external reality and we will probably not like the results.

The majority of us have created a bubble around us, protecting us from hurt and pain that we have experienced or from things we don't want to face. We pretend that we are happy with our life, our job, our spouse and the circumstances that surround us - when in fact, deep down we are wishing for something different.

When we are confronted about who we are, how we are, or about the problems that are clearly evident in our world - we just don't want to hear it. We get angry, we cry, we plug our ears and we say LALALALALALALA... "I can't hear you". We protect the bubble as if it is who we are, as if our safety, sanity and sanctity depends on it. There is no way we can allow anyone to burst our bubble and if for some reason they do, we feel exposed and vulnerable.

The truth is that those feelings are always there, we've just become so good at living in our bubble that they aren't noticed by us most of the time. When these feelings do "pop up" and become a problem, we sometimes attempt to cover them with alcohol or drugs - or any addiction that helps us avoid them.

The biggest problem with this type of behaviour (besides risk to our health) is that we are denying the very essence of who we are - we are suffocating ourselves with our painful experiences, instead of facing them. We refuse to let go of all the hate, anger and sadness that sits inside of us, and this is what is killing us! We need to let go of all the negativity and begin to forgive those who have hurt us - and more importantly we need to forgive ourselves.

I guess the reason I can write about this with such knowledge is because I have been living in a bubble for many years now. I have been denying who I really am at the core of my being because I wanted to protect her. It is in this protecting of myself that I have completely lost touch with that part of me, I have lost touch with the people around me and subsequently I have allowed someone else to live my life for me. I have been denying what I really want, and need because I haven't been present to get what the deepest part of my being really needs. And that is Love.

We have to learn love ourselves, completely and honestly - despite everything that we have experienced. We are worthy of love! Why am I so sure you ask? Because we are made from this Love. Some Great Force that sits in the very centre of all of us, created everything that we could ever need from an Unconditional, Unbiased Love. This Love is Ours, but we will never experience it while we are denying the very truth of who we are, while we are trapped in the very bubble that we have created in order to keep us safe.

We can not heal until we know who we truly are; and that is the person that is past all of the pain, experiences, labels and ideas of who we are that are limiting to our being. It's time to burst the Bubble of Illusion and heal our lives!

The most important thing to remember, in all of this, is that the world is your mirror - you must begin to heal your true self before you will see a change in the external world around you; this includes any physical, mental or emotional problems you are experiencing.

To begin healing, you will need to know where to start. Healing the Self is more than a way of healing, it is an incredible journey of self-exploration and discovery! How Stress Affects the Body, And Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Stress is an IBS trigger, but it also causes many other problems. It can have a profound effect on your mental and physical health. Here are some facts that might surprise you.

Human beings encounter stress as a daily part of life. Every change in routine that requires us to react causes a little bit of stress. We respond with ingrained responses. Some are inherited; others are learned.

Little bits of stress are beneficial; they keep us alert and ready to respond to the difficulties of life. In fact, the only people who don't experience stress are dead. However, prolonged periods of stress can have a devastating effect on your health, with symptoms such as:

• Colon spasms in people with IBS
• Upset stomach
• Altered digestive activity
• Headaches
• Sleep disturbances
• Elevated blood pressure
• Chest pain
• Tachycardia
• Irregular heartbeat
• Heart attacks
• Trembling or shakiness
• Decreased productivity at work
• Obesity
• Diabetes
• Loss of sex drive
• Menstrual irregularities
• Female hair loss
• Chronic fatigue
• Muscle pains
• Skin disorders
• Recurring infections
• Anxiety and panic attacks
• Shortness of breath
• Memory problems
• Depression
• Mental breakdown
• Substance abuse
• Abnormal immune system response

Stress also exacerbates conditions such as restless leg syndrome.

Relatively minor stress affects many people with irritable bowel syndrome. IBS itself causes stress, especially if it is accompanied by a lot of pain; this creates a self-feeding, vicious cycle that is often hard to break. It may affect close friends and family; they watch their loved one suffering, which tends to perpetuate the cycle as everyone becomes tense and anxious.

There is a huge benefit to be gained by removing or reducing the negative stress in your life.

Here are a few suggestions:

• Avoid watching the news for a few days. Opt for comedies or upbeat musicals instead.

• Take a day off if you work in a stressful environment.

• Hunt for funny photos at images.google.com. Try searches like:

- smiling cat

- laughing moose

- laughing

- smiling dog

Laughter stimulates the immune system and boosts infection-fighting processes. It also decreases pain and provides a distraction from stressful situations.

• Associate with funny people who make you laugh.

• Try deep breathing, meditation, or yoga.

• Avoid brooding about your condition. Focus your attention on other things instead.

How to Get Healthy

Are there many steps to follow on how to get healthy? Being healthy is not about some steps you need to follow. It is not about living on some diet plan and making sure that you follow it religiously every single time of the day. It is about eating the right foods in the right amounts, changing your habits to better fit your lifestyle, doing activities that will keep you physically fit and making sure that all of these have a positive impact on your health.

However, getting and staying healthy is also more than just about the things you do and the food you eat. Sometimes, it is also about making the right decisions, having the right mindset and yearning for the right results. It is more than just wanting to be skinny so you can fit in your jeans. If you want to learn how to get healthy, here are some things that you might want to do first:

1. Stop comparing yourself to anyone else. Weight issues are what pushes many people to start being healthy. Some women want to be skinny as this is what society has made them think is beautiful. Beauty is what you think and see it is. No one can force a standard to you. If you believe in yourself and are not after the aesthetic benefits of being healthy, it would still give you more than enough physical, mental and emotional benefits to keep you going for life.

2. Don't be too serious about it. Things go wrong when people start punishing themselves for eating a bit too much when they are on a diet. They then binge and get worse than where they started. If you ate more than what you're supposed to, let yourself think and reflect, and then promise that you wouldn't do it for as long as you could. You're wrong if you think it does you good when you eat less than what you're supposed to. You're even more wrong if you think you're less of a person because you can't discipline yourself to eat right.

3. Think balance. Balance is always good. If you are planning to make yourself full with a lunch dessert, you need to make sure that it is the only sweet treat you'll have for that day. If you are eating a salty dinner, make sure that none of your other meals or snacks is. Carbohydrates, proteins and fats are essential. Instead of counting every calorie you take in, just make sure that you have enough and not too much energy for your daily activities.

There are many easy ways on how to get healthy. However, none of them would be effective if you do not have the time, effort and determination to make "healthy" happen. It helps if you visit your doctor or nutritionist every once in a while, but being healthy would be always more than just about the foods that you eat and the exercises that you do.

The Impossible

I'm sitting at my desk staring at my diploma that arrived today. I had just got out of the shower when my husband walked in and showed me the package. He opened it and we both sat there just looking at it. He laughed as he said "Master of Science. All I can picture is you in a white lab coat working with chemicals". I remember when I thought I would never even complete my Associates degree, no less a Masters degree. When I finally completed my Associates degree, I thought to myself "I could get my Bachelors degree. I don't want to waste my GI Bill". Through pregnancy and the birth of my son I completed my Bachelors degree. I will never forget sitting in the hospital doing college algebra online, after having my son who was very sick. You want to talk stressful- that was stressful, and I'm good with numbers. I would have paid someone to complete that class for me, but I pushed through and completed it.

My associates and bachelors degrees were both in business and I really wanted a degree in my first true love, fitness. I decided to go for my Masters so I could have a degree in the field I was working in. Not to mention, I love to learn. There is a never ending flow of information available to us, especially in my line of work. In July I completed my Masters program and I am so proud of myself for achieving my education goals while owning a business, being a military wife, and having a child.

There were so many weekends I stayed home while others went out, in order to complete homework assignments. I spent countless hours studying and trying to balance life in the process. The saying "do now what others won't, to live a lifetime as others can't" rings very true to me. I'm thankful for the sacrifices I made and I'm so thankful for the people who supported me a long the way, specifically my husband.

I am now starting my Doctorate program. This is something I never in a million years thought I could do, but I'm doing it. If you would have told me I would have a Doctorate degree 5 years ago, I probably would have gave up before I even started because the thought was to overwhelming and too far out of reach.

You have to take the first step in your journey no matter what it is. Set goals you feel are attainable and move in that direction. The more you accomplish, the more empowered you will feel. I feel that there is absolutely nothing I can't do now. If I want it, I know that I can make it happen. The same is true for you. Embrace your gifts and invest in yourself!

To you health,

Jessica Summerall: This is the motto I choose to practice to make sure that I am doing everything I possibly can to ensure someone is successful, long term.
