How Do We Deal With the Shooting in CT Elementary School?

Several clients have asked, "I feel my heart is broken. Maybe I'm supposed to be heart-broken for a while. But what do you tell yourself when you hear the news like this, so that you can go on?"

Besides working out their own issues and growth, people remain stuck in the cycle of death & rebirth - samsara - cycling back into physical lives, by being caught by certain emotional experiences, especially sex, greed, horror, disgust, and fear. To evolve personally, and to dedicate energy to the Light, and to free ourselves from old pain, it is important not to get caught in these feeling states.

When you feel horrified or lost in your reaction to an event like this shooting, you become ungrounded. You are spinning in an acceleration of thoughts-and-feelings, caught by them, unable to be anywhere else. When you get ungrounded, you lose perspective, so the feelings become extreme. You aren't any help to yourself or others when you are lost in the horror. When you are ungrounded, your breathing is constricted and all in your chest.

It is possible to process the feelings and help the world heal. To do so:

First you must free your breathing. Take deep breaths and expel forcefully if your chest feels really tight. then, breathe into your belly, freeing your diaphragm.

Then, come back to your own reality by grounding yourself. Breathe into your hips, legs, feet. Breathe down into your feet until they start to tingle, and you can feel the floor, and the earth. Feel your awareness, and your energy mingle with the energy of the earth.

Then, keeping your feet and legs, become aware of the rest of your body - your lower back, spine, rib cage area, shoulders, arms, hands, upper chest, upper back, neck, and head. Occupy all of your body, so that you are fully present in yourself, as much as possible at this moment.

Next, center. Become aware of the place in which you feel yourself BEING. Ask yourself to settle into that place. Watch what happens as you settle into the still point in which you are one with You, and Spirit, with. Rest here.

Then, to keep from being trapped in (the totally normal reactions of) helplessness, depression, and rage, be proactive - use energy to make something positive happen. So, when you feel filled with your present reality within your own body, and in the present moment with Spirit, while staying grounded, send White Light to all the people affected by the shooting.

Do not deplete yourself. Stay in the place of channeling Spirit's energy for healing, staying grounded in yourself. Don't give energy to dark side by getting lost in images, or news casts, or fear thoughts. Keep breathing, grounding, centering, and radiating White Light to those affected. And there are lots.

Keep on your task. The more you ground and center, and then radiate White Light, the more you'll feed the side of good. You'll be helping the world. Blessings to you, and to us all.

3 Tips For Staying True To You This Holiday Season

Love-Hate Holidays

Who doesn't love the holidays? Who doesn't hate them at the same time? While everything feels festive, there can also be a lot of commercially-driven falseness to that festiveness too.

There are also the beliefs that giving gifts is how to best show you love someone, pigging out is the best way to share your happiness, and drinking up is the best way to ride the high of the season (or deal with avoiding the lows).

Self-Love or Selfishness?

What's important is staying true to you and continuing to love and care for yourself, even during the holiday season. If you're in the midst of embracing wellness, you may be challenged and pressured by those around you to go off the wellness wagon, "because it's THE HOLIDAYS! Don't be a downer!"

It can be so easy to do what you don't want to do over the holidays because of this kind of pressure. How do you avoid confusing self-love with selfishness?

First of all, if someone tries to pressure you into eating or drinking something you don't want, or spending money you don't really have on gifts, or participating in any activity that you don't enjoy, then THEY are being selfish by accusing you of selfishiness. It's okay to stay true to you. Those who love you unconditionally will respect your choices. If you are trying to become well, they will want you to be healthy and happy.

3 Tips for Staying True to You

1. Identify what you really WANT to do this season - What foods do you want to eat and not eat? Do you want to drink, and if so, how much and what? What events do you want to go to, anf not go to? Who do you really want to buy gifts for? What is your spending limit overall, and for each person? Who do you want to spend time with? Who do you not want to spend time with? Identifying what you want is the first step to keeping yourself stress-free and well.

2. Focus on what you LOVE about the holidays and find healthy ways to still experience those things - Holidays, like life, shouldn't be about either overindulgence or deprivation. The holidays are a time to celebrate what you love most. Is it the lights? How about taking evening walks around the neighborhood to experience them? Is it the food? Find healthy recipes for your favorite dishes, create them, and share them with your friends and family (without preaching or forcing, just sharing!) Is it the parties? Create a plan for how you can attend a party without sabotaging your goals - maybe it means bringing your own food and drink; maybe it means leaving at a set time so you can get a good night's sleep.

3. Deal with any guilt you feel about putting yourself and your wellness first - Why do you feel that you can't put yourself first? What would happen if you did? Why is your wellness less important than pleasing others? Are you sure others would be upset if you offered new ways of doing things over the holidays, or if you asked that they respect your health goals and personal wishes?

When it comes down to it, you are all you've got. Your first and primary relationship is with yourself. And that is true of every person you know. Each person is responsible for themselves, their feelings, their beliefs, their choices and their reactions. Sometimes being true to you can upset others at first, but what should come after their initial reaction to change is respect for your choices and love for you, no matter what.

Joy - What the Holidays are All About, Right?

Isn't joy and goodwill the whole PURPOSE of the holiday season? If you're traipsing around in Shouldville, how is that joyful? If you give out of "shoulds" and expectations, then it's not authentic. It's sacrificial. Don't sacrifice your wellness just because it's the holidays! Give the best gift you can give to others, and to yourself: a healthy, joyful, authentic you.

7 Tips On Waking Up And Working Out

If you're looking for a way to increase your energy, boost your metabolism, and be more productive throughout the day; then start your day off in the gym.

My friends and family all know me as an early riser... I get up habitually every morning at 5am and immediately start my day off with an intense workout. I get a lot of questions and e-mails about how to do it, so here are 7 tips that have helped me turn this into a habit:

If you're interested in waking up for an early morning workout, remembering the 4P's is critical: Proper Planning equals Peak Performance.

1. Prep Your Pre-Workout Nutrition:

Prepare any pre-workout nutrition that you will be taking and have it ready to go.

For example: I take a pre-workout drink and a few essential vitamins that help me get going every morning, so I get them ready to go and place them bedside so I can take them immediately upon rising.

Have your post workout protein powder ready to go in your shaker the night before as well.

2. Wear your gym clothes to bed:

Set your shoes aside and have your gym bag packed so you can grab and go as soon as you wake up.

3. Drink Water!

Drink 16 ounces of cold water. It wakes you up and gives you the hydration you need to workout.

4. Consider Caffeine

You can get it in tablet form, or you can brew your morning cup of joe as usual. Proven to increase strength and alertness.

5. Review Workout (before bed)

Planning and reviewing your workout right before bed will increase your chances of waking up dramatically. When you plan and review, you know exactly what you need to do in the morning so you will avoid screwing around and wasting time. Reviewing your workout pre-bed will also put your sub-conscious mind to work - thinking about it all night and you'll be surprised at how well you perform in the morning!

6. Wake up shock

Try splashing yourself in the face with cold water a few times, it always does the trick for me!

7. JUST DO IT!

Tell yourself you're going to wake up at 5 or 6am and you will. As soon as your alarm goes off just get up and go! Don't give yourself time to think about it or else you'll hit 'snooze' and go back to bed... Then regret it later.

Keep the 4P's in mind and if you'd really like to make the transition from PM workouts to AM workouts then stay with it... It takes 21 days to form a habit, and once you've formed a habit, it becomes natural, and people will start asking you how to do it!

Memory Exercises For Easy Recall

When a person ages a lot of changes start to happen along with numerous health problems that also start to develop. One major change in people is that they tend to be forgetful and develop short term memory loss with things like phone numbers, receent occurrences, people's names and more.

Having a good memory is a good thing as it helps us usually face life and it's challenges as we are often required to make wise decisions. Thus having a good memory helps people to have a good quality life. There are a few simple and easy memory exercises that will help you to have a good memory and remember things easily.

Visualizing helps you to imagine and envision things. It is an easy way to remember things because it will help your mind to take note of things with the aid of images. It will require practice and to do it regularly in order for you to gain the benefit of remembering things easily.
Integration is another simple and easy way to enhance your memory. Integration or also known as association, is connecting things to images. Words that have similar sounds are easier for you to keep in mind. You can do it by connecting things like a person name, number, face or any situation to things that if you see you will easily associate it to something that will help you to remember it easily.
Repetition of things is also one effective exercise to enhance your capabilities in remembering things easily. It is one recommended technique for you in order to have a sharp memory about things that are easy to forget like phone numbers, names, and things that have maximum importance in your life like passwords. By repeating these things more often there will be a high possibility that it will be retained in your mind.
Mnemonics another technique to improve your memory. This is the use of acronyms, rhymes and tunes that will help you to keep things in your mind and to remember it quickly. This is usually being used in school activity to help students in sharpening their memory.
Games like chess, crossword puzzles and scrabble are a helpful source of memory exercises to enhance your memory. With these sources you will not only improve your memory but you will also learn new words that will be helpful for you to improve your mind.
Cutting up, combining and grouping is also one way to hone your memory and this applies if you are trying to remember confusing things and numbers. This activity can be done by categorizing things with regards to the most common among them.

These memory exercises will not be enough for you to sharpen your memory without proper nutrition and complete sleep. So it is important for you to eat nutritious foods like fruits and vegetables and foods that are rich with memory enhancer components like iron and vitamins. It is also necessary for people to have at least eight hours of sleep in order to keep their mind healthy and avoid problems like short term memory

5 Super Simple Ways to Increase Your Energy

"Learn How to Luxuriate in the Simplicity." -Wayne Dyer

There were very specific times in my life when I would hit a wall at 3:00 and my energy was drained. There were also some very specific things happening at this time in my life that I can see very clearly were the causes of my energy walls.

There are some very easy tweaks you can make in your day so that you don't hit the wall at some point. You CAN feel vibrant and full of energy each and everyday. And the best part.. and I know this might be a shock to you all.. the way in which we increase energy is not what you may think.

Learn the 5 Super Simple Ways to Increase Your Energy:

Operate with Passion: The biggest reason I was hitting a wall at 3:00 is because I was no longer passionate for what I was doing with my work. I knew I wanted to step up and I was afraid to take that step. So everyday I was going through the motions wishing it was different. Your body can sense this feeling of lack of enthusiasm. It's basically choosing sleep over life. If you aren't living a vibrant life... might as well go to sleep! What do you need the energy for?
Find your Purpose: We were all put here on the planet for a reason. We all have a purpose and a mission from spirit. If you are not living your purpose or don't know what it is, your energy will diminish until you connect to it. Once again, why do you need to last all day if you aren't even living out your purpose for coming into this life? Your body is asking you to change and as soon as you begin operating from this space you will be surged with energy and you won't want to stop. Therefore, you will be supported in that energetically.
Create Your Own Beliefs: One of the most draining things is living out of someone else's belief systems. You are unique, and you have a unique path in your life. It doesn't matter if your mother believes what you are doing is impossible or your sibling believes it's stupid. You must operate from your own empowering beliefs that bring you closer to where you want to go. Napoleon Hill said that the only beliefs or thoughts you should keep are the ones that align with your desires, all the other ones got to go!
Enjoy the Dining Experience: Take a time out for meals and be present with your meal times. Enjoy the food, taste the herbs and spices, sit down and breathe with your food. This is a nourishing experience, you are taking care of yourself when you put food into your body so give yourself time in these moments.
Check In and Get Quiet: Throughout the day ask yourself how you are feeling or what you want to do. Sometimes when I check in I notice that I might need a nap, or maybe I am thirsty. Perhaps my body is asking for a break or a walk. If you never slow down and get quiet you will miss the signals from your body and therefore your body has no choice but to go to an extreme wall to get you to stop. Always check in the way you would with a newborn baby, you are worth it.

Why We Can't Fall Asleep

We all know that we require sleep, but it's still a mystery to science, why we can't sleep. One thing is clear, science does not have all the answers.

Our bodies run on a twenty four hour cycle known as our biological clock or circadian rhythm. The circadian rhythm controls our wake/sleep cycle. If we honor this rhythm and live in harmony with our biological clock, sleep will come naturally.

There is a lot of speculation on this subject we call, insomnia. I listed some reasons that may surprise you.

Ten Reasons Why People Don't Fall Asleep

1. First ask yourself; are you ready to sleep? Certain personality types may feel like there is so much to do, but not enough hours in the day. When you deny yourself enough sleep you may develop a sleep disorder.

2. You should dedicate an area such as the bedroom that invites you to sleep, not the couch where the big screen television is located. You know the feeling when you are on vacation and you can't wait to get home to your own bed.

3. We don't give enough thought to the purchase of a proper mattress, a primary sleep aid. Specific support unique to your needs can help you fall asleep and stay asleep. People seldom consider the condition of their mattress after so many years of use.

4. Watching TV in bed at bedtime, is known to stimulate your senses which can cause a hormone, adrenalin, to be released through your veins causing a fight or flight reaction that can keep you awake.

5. If you share a bed with a partner their sleeping patterns (his or her snoring) may be keeping you awake.

6. Stress, is blocked negative energy and is a major contributor to sleeplessness at night. Read about the ways you relieve stress quickly and easily?

7. Dieting will keep you awake as your body undergoes a natural response. The brain is notified that the body is hungry and will release hormones into the blood stream that will keep you awake. Read on to see a list of the foods you should eat to help you sleep.

8. Research reveals, there is a receptor in the human eye that reacts to light. This receptor triggers the brain to suppress the production of melatonin which is our body's natural sleep aid. Should you take a melatonin supplement?

9. Computers give off electromagnetic energy in the form of vibrations. If you work in your bedroom the computer screen should be completely turned off. The exciting images and flashing lights can trigger this receptor.

10. The temperature in the room must suit your sleep needs. Too hot or too cold will make it hard to sleep. What's the right temperature that will help you sleep?

Science has done extensive research on sleep, and has determined that we need at least eight hours of sleep each night for our bodies to rejuvenate. The reason that some of us can't fall asleep and stay asleep for eight hours might not be so scientific after all, but it may be something else...

Now that you know some of the reasons why you can't sleep if you click the link you will discover new tips and tools that can help you to fall asleep at amzn.com/B007X2SBZ4. "The Secret to Falling Asleep and Staying Asleep" examines the whole story just visit the link: amzn.com/B007X2SBZ4.

Fibromyagia Stress and Anxiety

For the past few years scientists have made progress resolving the complexities of fibromyalgia. There is little doubt in their minds that fibromyalgia is initiated by some form of trauma. The trauma may be physical or it could be an emotional trauma that brings on long-lasting stress and anxiety.

Research has shown that some people have a genetic predisposition to fibromyalgia, but the symptoms usually don't raise their ugly heads until triggered by a physical or emotional trauma.

One widely accepted theory to the cause of fibromyalgia is that a trauma triggers one's "fight or flight" response. The purpose of the "fight or flight" activity is to help us function in times of urgent need for assistance, but it only lasts a little while and then goes away.

But, with fibromyalgia, the "fight or flight" response stays "on" and our bodies remain on alert with a watchful eye ready to meet danger or an emergency at any time. Staying in this state places more stress on our bodies. This results in our bodies not being able to sleep soundly, a restful, deep sleep, which in turn, aggravates more widespread pain in our bodies. It's a vicious circle!

Stress is destructive to our mind and bodies in so many ways. We must learn how to eliminate the stress and anxiety in our lives to help alleviate the pain and the damage physically and emotionally.

Here are a few activities that I have used to help alleviate the stress in my life:

Massage: A good massage is essential in relieving stress. it can alleviate pain, soothing painful muscles, boost immune systems, and lower blood pressure. It may take a few tries to find the right massage therapist to fit your special needs. I prefer a lighter healing touch. It took me a while to find someone who understood fibromyalgia and my special needs, but it was certainly worth it.

Journaling: It is very therapeutic to put your words and pain on paper, sometimes, that alone will ease some your stress. Keep track of how you feel each day, writing down what you eat and drink. Were you particularly stressed that day..what caused that stress? What was your routine that day? I find that keeping a routine everyday helps me maintain a better balance.

Prayer: Prayer is the simplest, most uncomplicated stress reliever there is. Just have a conversation with God and tell him how you feel. Pray for guidance, patience, understanding and thank him for your blessings. Always thank God your your blessings, even though you don't understand why you are suffering.

Humor: We all need a good laugh, especially laughing at ourselves. Yes, we are in pain, but we have to learn to accept the pain and all the changes happening in our bodies and in our lives, even though these changes weren't part of our overall plan. We shouldn't take ourselves too seriously. A good laugh will promote wellness.

There are other simple things that you can do to relieve your stress. Forgiveness is essential in healing the mind and body. Holding a grudge, holding on to anger, resentment or bitterness is of no value, it will only hurt you and cause more stress and anxiety in your life. Exercise, (maybe just going for a walk or a bike ride) yoga or meditation. Find out which of these techniques works best for you and try to fit it into your schedule daily. Take care of you.

"The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes of mind" William James

"From my experience there are two types of fibromyalgia patients; those who want to get better and those who don't." Dr. DoGood

Stand tall with me and we can lick this together! Make up your mind right now, that you are going to work towards wellness and keep those roadblocks out of your way.

A Typical Day in My Life As a Health Coach

Health Coaching and Behavioral Health are terms that are finding their way into corporations, insurance companies, neighborhoods and schools. With all the advances in the medical world, and thousands of healthy habits websites and apps to choose from, what does a 'coach' do that makes a difference in the confusing world of how-to?

This article will disclose parts of my average working day. In addition, it will expose a behind-the-scenes view of 6 real-life client cases. These, I hope, will inspire you, the reader, to join the ever growing community of those taking the driver's seat in personal health, and being very creative in the process.

Morning Cup of Coffee time: Google is a wonderful (and potentially distracting) place. The morning cup of coffee, a 30 minute slot before interacting with anything else, is time to open up the Google reader to catch up on industry news. 30 minutes is the limit! Twitter and Facebook are skimmed and the day begins. (For those of you unfamiliar with Google reader, this can be set up on your computer or laptop to ensure that news feeds of your choice are gathered for you in one place every day). Longer articles are bookmarked for reading at another time. I might 'like' or re-tweet, but the process is brisk and, quite frankly, something I enjoy as a warm up to the day.

Why the 'Cup of Coffee' time? A good health coach, in my view, is one who is informed of the latest trends, who reads news feeds from reliable sources, who is open minded and flexible. I read inspirational quotations, discussions on the politics of Obamacare, statistics of the implications of the rise of obesity in the US, book reviews, news feeds on women's health issues, an article about a new technique in natural healing, tips and tricks, humor, and also the not-so-good side of our sedentary and consumerism ways. Information is key.

Client time*: Dr. Roberts, the head of Cardiology of our local hospital, was first this morning. Long hours, a nurturing yet draining feeling towards all his many clients, a very religious man with 3 young children - he was suffering from fatigue, lack of quality family time, weight gain, and low concentration in the afternoons. Goal review included re-forming the Wednesday evening Bible study group he had dropped due to work; remembering to drink enough water during the day to improve concentration - bringing a big bottle of water to work every day; booking every Saturday at the community pool to take his kids and get exercise at the same time (doubling up); getting an iPod to listen to beloved jazz tunes while taking an evening walk near a pretty golf course near his home (doubling up again); and tackling the late cafeteria gigantic lunches by remembering to bring a snack for late morning and not let lunch slip to something like 4pm.

Christian, a late teenager, was next. His Mom, so very preoccupied with his seeming lack of interest in anything at all, had sent him over to me. Christian, being in a life transition of his own, had poor energy, poor motivation and a habit to stay up very late at night. We did not have too much to work with, yet it became clear early on that Christian was a highly intelligent young man of (very) few words. In the end of one of our sessions, he borrowed some very advanced books on nutrition and exercise from me. I later discovered he had read these in record time and started to stock the pantry in a new way, borrowed a neighbor's bike, and applied for a summer internship - all with little discussion, yet operating from a new place of knowing.

Sally, who I knew well, was next. A night nurse at the emergency ward who worked every other night and had 2 small children - it does not get much more tricky than that! She had the goal of losing 25 pounds, yet all of her fellow nurse colleagues brought food into their common room at work every night - pastries, sweets, sausages. She felt she'd have to roam the hospital halls just to keep away from the temptation. Her eating and sleeping schedule was irregular, to say the least, and the workload could not be predicted. Goals were around keeping the aerobics class she loved, eating as regularly as possible, learning how to set healthy boundaries to say 'no' at work, getting support from her husband and Mom so she could get enough sleep on the in between days.

Lunch time: For me, lunch is a time for my outreach and learning. Midday is the time I can best take advantage to phone colleagues, potential clients, or schedule an online course series. It is a great break to change gear and gather good concentration for the rest of the afternoon.

Client time: Nicole is a successful personal trainer, yet plagued by stress and irritable bowel syndrome. Her image and branding had everything to do with projecting vibrant health, so the extra strain of her situation added to her concerns about not feeling and looking her very best. Goals for her included dietary changes such as not eating re-heated food every day for lunch, admitting that there were parts of her life that indeed were not 'perfect,' working on a new social circle and a much wanted move back home if her husband's career allowed it. I was at the point of recommending the 10 day natural bowel cleanse, but it was not necessary! This was an amazing indication of the mind/body connection - just admitting the real problem and making small changes - the body responded positively right away.

Michael was next. A party going, fun loving, famous British writer of lyrics, had received a warning notice from his doctor - too much partying was taking its toll on his liver. Having ever so much financial freedom due to his success, finding creativity a breeze, 3 active sons and a loving wife, indeed, 'health' was not at the forefront of his lifestyle. We kept a journal, including alcohol intake, to create a mirror image of the crazy party nights, and found videos that showed what a liver actually looks like when fat has accumulated there. Goals included substitutes for the extra drinks, sports that matched his lifestyle such as boating and golf, and continuing the journal (where he demonstrated incredible discipline). A new appreciation for his wife's incredible organic cooking came into the forefront and excess weight began to drop off.

Megan visited towards the end of the day. Her obesity lead her doctor to recommend bariatric surgery, but she wanted to try once more to get her weight under control. She was expecting her first Grandchild and ran a successful business renting holiday homes. This job required physical movement of sorts, yet she felt unable to move around anymore to fulfill her duties. Selected goals were much smaller. We bought a pedometer to count the steps taken each day and increase these with time. She stayed up late at night to watch TV and found it comforting to eat during that time. Dropping extra sweets came next, and eating more healthy food late at night such as melon squares instead of cookies. She prided herself in the steps she had taken.

Last came Julie. A successful psychologist, pregnant in her third month, was suffering terrible morning sickness that had her turning away clients and causing her worry about her poor weight gain. In this case, I was able to admit that this case was best referred to my esteemed colleague and natural health specialist, Barbara. 3 sessions later with diet changes and a special homeopathic cleansing program, Julie was feeling better and appropriate weight gain had set in. Julie had a healthy baby and one just after that. Even though I did not 'help' her myself, we found what was needed and helped to form a happy and healthy family.

End of the Day: Emails, reading the information I had saved from the morning, preparing the next day, taking notes on everyone's challenges and progress.

Inspiration: Everyone is different. Everyone has unique challenges. Everyone who wants to look and feel closer to 'best self' will be creative to find a way. The coaching accountability and support is a catalyst, not a dead end. The variety found in this arena is endless, and each client truly owns his success.

Please feel free to leave your comments about what innovative ideas you have discovered!

Signs Indicating a Spiritual Awakening

There have been times when I questioned my sanity as I walked the path of spiritual purification, feeling very alone. There were times when I fought to repress my intuition as it tried to lead me into truth that my mind could not accept and of which my church would not approve. I lost many friends who began to think of me as too far removed from the traditional teachings of the Christian faith in which I was raised. There was no one to tell me how to regain my emotional health so I could keep going forward. Without information or a guidebook or guru, it took me years to realize that physical and emotional pain comes from resisting the ascension process.

Having said that, I will give a few signs, which indicate that we as individuals and a collective society are going through a spiritual awakening. While none of these should be confused with serious conditions, which require medical attention, here are some other signs indicating that a spiritual awakening is occurring for you:

• Change of relationships, careers, dietary preferences, sleep patterns vision and perception, and libido level
• Creativity and energy surges that include decluttering, detoxing, and simplifying your life
• Desire for freedom
• Depression and loss of interest
• Electronic disturbances
• Fatigue , headaches, heart palpitations, hot flashes, and ringing in the ears
• Synchronicities, intuition, and psychic gifts increased
• Keen awareness of thoughts (your own and of those around you) and more emotional responses (energetic sensitivities)
• Miraculous healing of body, mind, or emotions

This list is by no means complete, but these are a few of the more common symptoms that people have reported in regards to spiritual growth. Let's look at a couple of these in more detail.

Anxiety or Panic Attacks

As things change within the body, it affects the emotions and vice versa. Most people fear unsolicited change and may resist the Spirit's attempt to rid the mind of fear-based patterns of thinking. This can manifest as anxiety, nervousness, or panic attacks.

Anxiety is a sign that you are resisting a clearing process. Simply acknowledge this emotion that has come up for healing. This fragmented part of your soul is asking to be integrated and aligned with the purer vibration of your soul. Breathe and bring it into the flow of life-anxiety is just another form of energy. When you feel nervous, remind yourself that this is only energy moving through. Say something like: "I allow dense/dark energy to be transmuted and integrated into love/light energy as I enjoy my peaceful, prosperous, easy life."

Use the tools you have discovered and keep repeating the mantras, prayers, and affirmations. By the time you memorize them they will have started shifting your response mechanism and you will begin to address anxiety in a new way.

Panic attacks can be "talked down" by tapping into the Sacred Heart center. Reading a passage in A Course in Miracles gets my mind calmed down and into better perspective rather quickly. Certain herbs have been found useful for treating nervousness. Talk with an herbalist or alternative health practitioner about using valerian root, passion flower, kava kava, St. John's wort, or other herbal supplements.

Sometimes the intense energy one feels as anxiety is actually a buildup of faster-vibrating frequencies that need to be released. The best way to do this is to get into the Sacred Heart space for five minutes. Do some deep breathing and then envision a ray of light beaming from your heart center toward anyone you feel needs a boost of God-Goddess love and light. If you don't have a particular person in mind, send that beam into the collective consciousness of humanity.

Body Sensations

As the biological body shifts into the light body, the old cellular structure is dissolving, giving birth to a new crystalline structure. For some who are sensitive, this can be an uncomfortable experience until enough of the form has been transmuted to allow for a purer vibration to take hold. The detoxification process can bring about body aches and pains (flu-like symptoms) or fatigue that our current medical doctors cannot explain or treat. It is not uncommon to experience unusual sensations in your body or chakras. There could be pressure on top of your head, tingling on your scalp or forehead (especially between your eyebrows), or energy surges in your body. Pain, hot flashes, and chills are also reported.

Body aches and pains may be directly related to regions in the subtle bodies that are blocked or stuck. Headaches may indicate that the third eye is opening. Stomachaches could indicate that you are stuffing your feelings/emotions. Chronic cough and sore throat may indicate a blocked fifth chakra. These symptoms should subside once the energetic condition is cleared and the body has acclimated to the new vibration. Until then, take advantage of energy therapy, acupuncture, aromatherapy, exercise, herbs, homeopathic remedies, mineral and vitamin supplements, salt baths, massage, or other holistic methods necessary to handle the discomfort.

Because organs and glands within the body are changing to accommodate the light body, your arms, hands, feet, or legs may tingle when you are meditating or doing conscious breathing. For more than ten years, I have experienced the sensation that someone is lightly touching or playing with my hair. I've also felt that I'm half in and half out of my body or that my spirit is too large to fit inside my skin.

If you are having ascension symptoms, be aware of your thoughts because what we think is what creates our reality. Our bodies are a mirror that shows us what beliefs we hold either in our conscious or unconscious mind. Be careful to think and say only positive things about yourself and your body; we are manifesting more quickly than ever.

As we enter these intense years of the shift into purer consciousness, there are spiritually-minded folks all over the world willing and able to help. A Google or Facebook search will help you find a group where you can chat and find community.

Fresh Kava Root Versus Dried Kava Root

Unless you are fortunate enough to live on or visit one of the many tropical islands on which the beautiful kava plant grows, chances are you will only ever come across dried or pre-prepared kava root products. Although, in a perfect world, it would be possible to ship fresh kava root to people all over the world, the fresh root does not keep well once it has come out of the ground, making it almost completely impossible to ship safely. On the other hand, dried kava root that is powdered will last for over two years, while dried kava root that has been minimally processed will keep for much longer. Therefore, the preferred method of kava exporters is to sell the dried root rather than trying to deal with all of the complications of shipping the root fresh.

Nevertheless, I want to take a moment to extol the many virtues of fresh kava root, in order to ensure that if any of you ever have the opportunity to work with the fresh root you take it without hesitation. First of all, fresh kava root will almost always be more potent than its dried counterpart, and it will also most likely taste sweeter, as well. It can be difficult to know when buying dried kava root how old it really is - some companies likely leave their dried root sitting on shelves for months, even years - but with fresh kava, you can be assured that it was just harvested. Furthermore, the young lateral roots of kava are known to taste much sweeter than the older taproot of the plant, probably due to different alkaloid contents in the lateral and vertical roots of the plant. When you buy the fresh root, you know exactly what type of kava root you are receiving, as well as what strain it is. This extra level of control will allow you to craft the type of kava experience you really want to have. A final benefit of fresh kava root is that traditional Pacific kava ceremonies always utilize fresh roots, so if you want to experience the real spirit of the kava plant, fresh root is definitely the way to go.

If you do not live in a Kava growing area, and if you cannot foresee a future in which you might have the chance to visit one, don't feel discouraged. I still have good news for you. With a little bit of conscious effort, it is absolutely possible to make your dried kava root experience as close to 'fresh' as possible! The most important thing is to find a supplier that offers high quality dried kava that has not been sitting around for too long. Now, no company is going to admit to selling stale kava, so here are some tips for figuring out which kava supplier is the best:

1. Try to buy your kava direct from a farm, if possible. Kava farms sell to retail outlets and kava bars as well as individuals, and therefore tend to have a much higher turnover rate than retailers. Therefore, kava purchased directly from a farm tends to be much fresher. Fortunately, there are plenty of kava farms who will sell directly to you over the internet.

2. The more details a kava seller provides about the kava, the better. Look for mentions of the specific strain that is being used, where the kava is grown, even kavalactone content! There are many types of kava, and this information will help you to discover what types are the most effective for you.

3. Finally, a great way to determine if your batch of dried kava is potent is to notice whether the prepared kava beverage numbs the insides of your mouth and your tongue. The more numbing quality you experience, the more kavalactones are likely to be present in the dried kava.

By using these tips and doing a little research, you will be able to create a dried kava experience that is as close as possible to the fresh kava experience. And if you are ever in a Pacific island region, make a point of searching out some fresh kava root - you won't regret it!

Is Healthcare a Luxury?

Healthcare is not a luxury, it is a necessity. Melody Barnes, director of the White House Domestic Policy Council states, "Health care costs are exploding. Many people are bringing in less income every month and seeing their premiums go up at the same time. It's affecting the bottom line and businesses. It's also affecting the fiscal well-being of our country."

We all want a good health care system that's affordable and as long as I can remember our government has been trying to come up with a solution with not much luck. Some of us want it to be up to the individual, while others think it's a government problem. Our health care system has many aspects to it that we aren't looking at and for the most part don't want to. To tell you the truth they are looking for a solution that will never happen. In the west we are trying to kill the disease no matter what it is, a common cold, the flu, or cancer.

Kill! Kill! kill!

It will never work in a 100,000 years. We will never be able to fix a system that is built on the wrong premise. Our government, the drug companies and the large corporations are in business to make money and that's what they are doing.

It's not healthcare, it's sickness care. They are not educating us about health. They're hiding as much as they can and not focusing on health. I believe when they say they want to cure a disease like cancer they are speaking metaphorically.

In Spanish there is an expression (Con de los dientes para fuerat) 'they speak from the teeth out.' We all have heard the saying that food is our medicine. We eat every day, at least most of us do. In the United States McDonald's, Burger King, Jack in the Box, Wendy's Taco Bell, and all those chicken places are not there for your health.

They serve cheap unhealthy food that people are eating on a daily basis. Food is medicine and if you're eating unhealthy, sooner or later you are going to be unhealthy. You either have to pay more by only buying organic food, taking soda, meat and most restaurants out of your life or you have to pay with sickness and an early death.

People ask me all the time, 'isn't our government protecting us from unhealthy food?' Hell No! We now have heavily poisoned chemicals on most food grown in the USA and it could even be worse in other countries. Our food is being genetically engineered. GEO for short this is an organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques affecting the DNA of the food.

At this time we have no idea what this will do to our health. For the most part this is banned in Europe and the rest of the world. If you want to have good health care it is up to you.

You have to take responsibility for your own health. Eat a healthy diet; drink a lot of clean water, exercise every day, educate yourself and if you can grow your own organic garden. Think about your health not about your belly -if you think about your cravings like pies, chocolate brownies, cake, fried foods, hamburgers and fried chicken you're going to end up with some form of dis-ease and then complain about the poor health care you are getting or they are not giving you.

Grow a garden, eat food that grow in your area, eat organic as much as possible, stay out of fast food places and stop complaining. You are in charge of your own health or you're out of control.

They are not going to fix it; they don't want to fix it. If you want the best health care start reading labels, ask questions and stop buy junk food. If no one buys it- it will go away. Demand healthy food. I know if you bought a new sports car you wouldn't put the cheapest gas in it, would you?

You'd buy the best yet you put more poor fuel into your mouth daily.

I wish you the best in your Health Wealth and Happiness

Are You Stressed To The Max? Then Get Help Here!

You should try and keep the stress in your life under control. You can cause yourself serious problems like heart disease, insomnia, muscle aches and depression if you are stressed. If you get enough sleep, you will reduce your stress level, and find it easier to stay in good shape and stay healthy.

While video games and other hobbies can typically be very relaxing, if you find yourself becoming frustrated then you should put it down. You should clear your head and let yourself relax, do not give into stressful feelings or frustration.

Surprisingly, getting better organized can reduce stress. A common cause of stress can be clutter, an inability to find things, or even procrastination. Stay organized; your stress level will decrease when you feel in control.

No matter the source of your stress, you always want to think positively. If you are thinking negatively then things will seem much worse then they really are. Every problem that is eliminated can be quickly replaced by the next one. A positive focus on your life will enable you to live it in a positive and happy way, with stress kept well and truly under control.

Give stress relief tonics a try. Homeopathy could help you reduce your stress. These remedies are absolutely safe and can be very efficient. There are some herbs (Kava is one of them) that have been found to be just as effective as Xanax (alprazolam) in helping people relax and stay calm.

Music can sooth the savage beast that is stress. It is commonly known that music therapy can cut down on stress if you find the music relaxing and soothing. So choose music that works well to relieve your own stress, because what might be soothing to one person, might not be the right stress reliever for you. Listening to music you like will cause your brain to release serotonin, which will make you feel calm and happier.

The first step to getting a grip on your stress level is to take an analytical look at how you could improve your methods of dealing with it. Try recording your responses to stressful situations over a period of a month or so. Looking closely at your reactions to times of high stress can help you to self-analyze whether you are using appropriate means of fighting it. If the way you handled stress only made things worse, you can seek new ways to manage stress in your life.

When someone is giving you directions or instructions, you will be less stressed later if you pay close attention the first time. In order to relieve stress, always be sure to listen attentively when instructions are given. For example, when your doctor gives you advice, or when a teacher lectures in class, paying attention will help you retain important information.

Music is a great stress reliever. In fact, the effect of music is powerful and strong. Science has shown that listening to music has a calming effect on the body. People's musical tastes differ widely; you need to figure out what sort of music works to calm you down and help you relax.

Calming scents can melt the stress away. Smelling soothing things, such as peppermint, rose, thyme, lavender, bay leaves, and eucalyptus, will relax you. In a small container you can add some popular scented oils and a bit of rock salt to create your own aromatherapy. Whenever stress starts to overtake you, just smell one of your favorite aromas.

Working for a living is hard enough without having to be stressed out while doing it. Stress causes many problems such as weight gain, premature aging, and can damage your relationships. Take the advice you've learned here and put it into practice to battle your stress successfully! Providing quality counselling articles, hynotherapy writings and other mind help resources online.

Sleep Is Necessary to Life

The importance of sleep cannot be overstated. According to a recent report, 70 million Americans are having trouble getting a good night's sleep. Research from Harvard Medical School's Division of Sleep Medicine has shown the critical importance of sleep in fortifying the body and keeping the mind clear. Modern science has also shown how necessary a good night of sleep is for maintaining healthy brain functions such as memory and learning skills.

Why So Many of Us Sleep Deprived

The reasons are not surprising. For many women, stress is the main reason for lack of sleep. When you're mentally stressed at night, the body increases its production of cortisol, the stress hormone that acts like a shot of adrenaline preventing restful sleep.

For others, it's the culture we live in with so many temptations to stay up late surfing the internet, texting friends, playing video games, checking emails, watching Netflix, etc.

Many Americans are also over-worked with longer hours and night shifts which leads to an over-indulgence in caffeine from coffee, soda, energy drinks and sugar.

The Important Benefits of Sleep

There are so many reasons to get enough sleep. Studies have linked sleep deprivation to a higher risk of stroke and insomniacs are more likely to suffer a heart attack than those individuals who sleep well at night.

Getting enough sleep at night will also make your mind sharper, your skin healthier and your body slimmer. You will even be nicer and may improve your marriage since lack of sleep can make us irritable and cranky.

Learn How to Sleep Again

Remember when you could fall asleep and stay asleep, waking up feeling rested and refreshed, ready to take on the day? When left untreated, trouble falling asleep can lead to chronic tension, anxiety and even weight gain.

If you are ready to check yourself into sleep rehab or need a sleep intervention, then consider the following sensible tips to help you reclaim your rest and get the type of deep sleep that will rejuvenate your mind and your body.

Tips to Sleeping Better at Night

- Turn off all electronics one hour before bedtime.

- Take time to unwind with a warm bath or good book.

- Set the thermostat to a cooler temperature at night to promote sleep.

- Ease up on the amount of caffeine you drink, especially after 3 PM.

- Maintain a consistent sleep-wake schedule including the weekends.

- Consider a sleep mask to block out all light that can disrupt your sleep.

There is no one single solution to improve sleep that works for everyone. Try doing a few things differently at night to find out what works for you. It will be worth the effort because sleep is a basic necessity just like eating and can have a significant impact on every aspect of your overall health and well being. Sweet dreams!

Happiness, Play And Be Happy

Happiness has been described as an illusion, a warm bath, a bowl of cherries, and many other things by many people throughout time. It is not an abstract concept but there are many descriptions which make the feeling of happiness an individual experience. Since the concepts of happiness are reliant upon the mindsets and emotional states of each person who experiences them, there is a "fuzzy logic" kind of feel to it. Often people attempt to describe their state of mind and body as being directly related to an experience. People say that they are happy for many reasons, and for the most part will attribute those reasons as mirrored expressions of their physical and the emotional state which they experience as a result.

In an attempt to nail down the truth about what "being truly happy" means, it is essential to examine the basic needs that have to be met for people to feel that they have reached this euphoric state of mind. The basic needs of all human beings are water, food, shelter, companionship, and health. If any of these are missing it becomes difficult to maintain a happy disposition. Considering that most of these conditions are met, generally people in the modern world can achieve "happiness" on a regular basis. In considering the state of childhood and infancy, babies and small children according to several studies, smile 62 percent more than their adult counterparts. The rationale as to this deficiency in adult levels of happiness can only mean that at some point people become less happy as they get older. If all of the basic needs are still being met from child to adulthood, one must assume either "something has been taken away" or "something else has been added". In either case in order to change these levels of happiness, something must have "changed" to subsequently reduce smiling capacity by 62 percent. If something got changed, then in theory it can be changed back again!

In people's adult lives, things do change as they get older. Increases in responsibilities and requirements to earn an income, greatly detracts from the leisure of "playtime" that most people experienced as children. The action of aging itself has become a condition that for many reasons adds to a persons unhappiness. The evolution from child to adult and then to parent is a journey of increasing responsibilities and diminishing play time, compounded with a sense of becoming older and less likely to participate in play of any sort. People are living longer but attitudes towards well-being as the population ages are not promoted equally.

There are preconceptions regarding "older people who play", but does it have to be this way? Could this increase in responsibilities and accompanying stresses be the reason for the decrease in levels of laughter and happiness? Most likely this is a key reason why most people become "less happy" as they age. They have forgotten how to play. It would seem that the stresses and lack of playtime greatly detracts from a person's ability "to deal with the stresses" they are accumulating as they grow up. As children we could "laugh and forget" about the injustices and mishaps encountered on a daily basis. As adults we don't shed the "feelings of unhappiness" quite so easily.

The solution isn't necessarily to merely take on fewer responsibilities; rather it makes more sense to increase our playtime and "happy state of mind". As small children, the imagination makes up a huge part of our psychological "well-being". The ability to dream up ideas and creatively play with the idea of things used to make our existence more meaningful. As adults we are told often "to grow up and stop behaving like children", perhaps the opposite is what we should be telling each other. While it's true we must take on many more responsibilities, we can still keep some of the key attributes we had as children. Of these, the values of friendship and "fair play", and how to make others laugh are important functions in the transition from our young lives to our maturity. If somehow people could merge the games and imagination used in their youth with the daily requirements of adulthood, perhaps their lives would be happier.

Since there are times when play is not recommended, by finding things "we like to do", people can establish hobbies and pastimes that enrich their lives at the end of the work day. Simple things like drawing and pottery or a martial arts class can mean the difference between being able to shed the stresses of the day and "carrying them over" to the next day. Parents can join in more of the games that their children are playing, even if it does take them a while to catch on to the rules! The bonds that this will help to form and the resulting energies exchanged by getting down on their level, will go a long way to promoting a much better perspective on life.

As time passes and the memories of childhood fade, so too does our memory of what it felt like to "laugh out loud" in the very realest sense of the now much over used text abbreviation. Instead of allowing our lives to become chaotic pits of desperate and relentless stresses, we must continue to play our games and laugh with our friends. Barring the loss of the essential basic needs of survival, we must strive to use our imaginations and come up with new ways to truly "enjoy our lives". By pursuing happiness we are extending our journey here, not only for ourselves, but for all who are within earshot of our infectious laughter. Remember the old Chinese proverb, "where there is laughter, happiness likes to be!"
